Our Top Five of the World’s Worst Smells

In working in the rather niche world of Themed Scents, we have had some requests that truly knocked us sideways!

We work every day with Exhibit Designers, Theme Park builders and Museum Curators to make immersive experiences for their visitors.

While some are looking for pleasant and enlightening scents, we really enjoy working with those looking to create the weirdest and most shocking! We have been delighted to work with some of the most well-known attractions and museums across the UK, Europe and the world. After some very smelly years of experience, here are our Top Five of the most Horrendously Wiffy and Pungently Powerful smells in the world!!

5. Rotten Egg - A strong and pungent, sulphur-like smell. Guaranteed to spark an instant reaction with this all too recognizable, nastily nauseous aroma.

4. Vomit - The sickly, foul aroma of fresh vomit. An all too familiar smell for some and a popular choice with many of clients for creating an engaging medical experience.

3. Sewer - The cloying and sharp aroma of rotten sewers. Hold your nose for this build-up of years and years of foulness with this most nasty of smells.

2. Sweaty feet – While some might think sewers smell worse, the nauseatingly accurate scent of unwashed socks and sweaty trainers just misses out on the top spot on our list. Think sports socks left at the bottom of the basket for far too long and you get the idea!

1. Fish Market – Our number one without a doubt! A truly pungent stench of kippers, sardines, and anchovies left far too long in the midday Sun. While fresh and cooked fish are something to savour, nothing tangs our nostrils quite like this.
