Museum smell boxes: The scents of Caribbean cuisine

AromaPrime created the scents of Caribbean cuisine for a new exhibition at Weston Park Museum!

'Sheffield Stories: Caribbean Footsteps' features a case with hand-written recipes, and as visitors read, they can sniff saltfish, jerk seasoning and soursop in scented compartments.

The museum partnered with co-curators from Sheffield's African Caribbean community, who tried our samples and gave their feedback to ensure the scents were accurate.

AromaPrime's lifelike scents were used as a tried and tested approach that wouldn't bring the potential challenges of using real food and spices. Inside the compartments are Aroma Blocks, which use 'dry diffusion' to release the scents in a tidy manner.

Sheffield Stories: Caribbean Footsteps is open now at Weston Park Museum!
